Growing up, I wanted to be a Princess
I didn’t know I was going to be the maid, chef, and hair stylist, but I don’t hate it.
First, let’s address my misunderstanding of cursive capital “D” - anyone else think this was a “G” when they were a kid?
Oh, Disney, your founder father tried hard to tell good stories. Stories that shaped at least my impressionable world view. I thought being a princess was something to aspire to be. Little did I know it was not the life it was painted to be.
In America, very few of the households have staff. So now I find myself doing the
Cooking
Cleaning
Laundry
Picking out and mending of my own clothing
Styling my own hair
Cutting my husband’s hair to save money.
just me? Please, tell me I am not the only one!
To be fair, I cut both the dog’s hair too.
It saves me $150 x 4 times a year x 2 dogs. Yay, poodles!
Q: Where did I learn how to do these things?
A: I learned from reading magazines and books.
I’m here to share that knowledge with you, fellow Disney princesses.
I’ll be presenting this information in small, daily chunks.
Have a question you want me to address?
Have a fabulous day!
